June 27, 2018 Hump day started out early and was an uphill journey. Our group traveled about an hour north to San Marino, a country within Italy. San Marino has its own constitution and a population of just under 34,000, located at the top of a mountain. We walked up winding roads surrounded by astounding views, sculptures and a surplus of souvenir shops and pizzerias.

From the top we were able to see where the mountains met the sea, which was our next stop. We headed west to Rimini, a beach city in the Emilia-Romagna region. We walked where ancient Romans had, ate a spectacular lunch and lounged on the beach.
