We got an early start and headed for the Frasassi Caves or Grotte di Frasassi. Along the way we stopped to see Gola del Furlo, an ancient Roman roadway along the Candigliano River. While waiting for our cave tour we ate lunch at the concession area, where I got a cheeseburger, which wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. The caves are in Genga, Italy about 90 minutes southeast of Urbino, and are one of Italy’s most famous and largest caves systems. The caves were nice and cool sitting at 14 degrees Celsius or 57 degrees Fahrenheit. The caves were amazing and large and gave us a break from the heat. After the caves we headed back to Urbino to catch up on naps and schoolwork.
